16th December 2012 – LKA Champ Show
A fabulous end to 2012 at LKA with Sandra Marshall as our judge for the shorthairs. Turtles puppies, sired by Koolwaters Commitment had their debut today and did us proud. Griff, owned by Ian Duncan won 2 classes and Best Puppy in Breed, with his sister Mildred owned by Nicky Soanes and Ali Stainsby winning 2 classes and Best Puppy Bitch.
Rolo and Meg both won their limit classes, and Gale won Open Bitch. Kavacanne won 7 out of the 16 classes, which was a fabulous acheivement. To top the day off, we were delighted with Meg winning her 2nd CC, so now just need one more to win her Uk Champion Title.
25th November 2012 – All Winners Champ Show Amsterdam
We had a great trip to Amsterdam once again with Apple winning theBest Bitch and CACIB for the 3rd year running. Sister Meg was Reserve Best Bitch and won the CAC. Owley also won Best of Breed and the CAC/CACIB in the GWP Ring which would have given her the dutch title, but she was unfortunately just a few days too young, so she need just one more win to now win that title.
10th November 2012 – Gundog Breeds of Scotland Champ Show
Another successful day in Scotland. Owley wins Best of Breed in the GWP Ring, with Turtle winning the RCC in GSP’s, with sister Apple winning 2nd place behind her in Open. Viv Burke judged both breeds.
27th October 2012 – Midland Counties Champ Show
An absolutely amazing day at Midland Counties for Kavacanne. It has been a successful show for us, and 5 years ago we won our first CC with Gale at this show at just 11 months of age. Today we were delighted that Gale was awarded her 20th CC under Ben Thurm.
This CC was also the 50th which we have won here at Kavacanne during those 5 years, a remarkable acheivement, of which we are so very proud. We werealso over the moon with Gales’s half sister Meg winning a second RCC, following on from her first CC at Belfast last month. Many Thanks to all the judges over the years who have thought so highly of our breeding.
To make the day better Owley was awarded her 4th CC under Jean Lanning, and also won the Good Citizen Stakes under Kathy Gorman.
The following week we also had the great news that Rolo’s hipscore has come back as 3/4, an excellent result.
29th September 2012 – Belfast Champ Show and Maastricht Champ Show, Holland
Adam went across to Belfast Show with Morgan and Meg and had a wonderful trip. Meg was awarded her first CC and Best of Breed under John Thirlwell, and also received a Group Shortlist. Morgan won the RCC too. Above right is Meg in the group.
Meanwhile Heather went over to Holland, where Owl won the CAC and Best of Breed.
21st September 2012 – Driffield Champ Show
Driffield was a day dreams of made of with Kavacanne doing the double! Our judge was Barbara Rigby, who awarded Rolo his 2nd CC from a strong entry of males. In the bitches Gale won her 19th CC and Best of Breed. Meg and Morgan both took credible 2nd places in their classes. Later that day we were delighted when Gale took Group 3 and Kavacanne also won the Breeders Group.
9th September 2012 – Richmond Champ Show
Fantastic day at Richmond with Morgan winning his 10th CC and 6th Best of Breed under Chris Atkinson, who had previously awarded him a RCC as a puppy. Owle also won the RCC under Patsy Hollings and young handler Daisy Mae Hunt borrowed Morgan in the Junior habdling Semi Finals, which she won meaning she goes through to the finals in November. Kavacanne also won the Breeders Group.
5th August 2012 – Bournemouth Champ Show
Alan Small judged the GSP’s at Bournemouth, and it was a day for our girls. Meg was in the top places of limit once again, with a respectable 2nd place, and Gale won Open Bitch and 3rd RCC of the year.
27/04/1999 to 08/08/2012 – Dorntanza Lord Bailybarre at Kavacanne JW
We today said goodbye to Bailey. He was our first male GSP, who was such an amazing dog with an amazing character. He had been unwell for a while, and it was heartbreaking to see him in uch pain, and it was time to let him rest. 4th and 5th August 2012 – National Gundog and Paignton Champ Shows
A weekend dreams are made of! Owley was our superstar winning 2 Challenge Certificates within 24 hours! Her first was won under Barbara Abbishaw at the Uk’s Premier Gundog Show. She then won her second just the following day under another breed specialist Miss Alex Friar, We always knew she was a stunner!
Morgan also won the RCC at Paignton under Jean Bates. This was his 11th one.
14th July 2012 – Newport Open Show
Fantastic day at Newport Show, where Owl and Meg win Best AVNSC and Best of Breed under Nigel Worth. The rain didn’t dampen the spirits, and in the Gundog Group judge Steve Hall liked what he saw, with Owl topping the Group, and Meg placing runner up behind her! She then went on to take Best in Show. Amazing result for our super girl.
7th July 2012 – East of England Champ Show
Morgan wins the RCC behind his dad under Alan Curry, and Meg is placed a good 2nd place in Limit Bitch.
29th June 2012 – Windsor Champ Show
Brenda Smith was the GSP judge at Windsor, and Meg won a strong Limit Bitch class. In the Wirehaired ring, we were delighted that the pups from Shim’s last litter won both Puppy Dog and Bitch classes. Heff went up against sister Inca with Inca taking Best Puppy in Breed, and also the RCC at only 8 months old!
1st June 2012 – Southern Counties Champ Show
Following on from his win at Bitmingham, Morgan again wins the dailt heat of the Champion Stakes under Rodney Oldham. Returning on the final day of the show, he also saw off stiff competition to win overall and qualify the the Grand Final in late 2012! In the breed ring, under Val Mann, Morgan was 2nd in Open and Gale wins the RCC.
26th May 2012 – Bath Champ Show
Gale wins the RCC and Morgan is 2nd in Open Dog under Gordon Haran.
10th May 2012 – Birmingham National Champ Show
Morgan and Meg both win 2nd in their strong classes, and Morgan did us proud by winning the Gundog Champion Stakes! He didnt get anywhere in the final, but a fabulous result. Thanks to judges Stuart Mallard and Herr Gerd Schad.
9th April 2012 – GSP Association Champ Show
For the second year running Gale won the top honour of Best in Show at the GSPA Annual Championship Show. She won Open Bitch followed by her 18th CC, before competing against the Best Male of the day to be awarded Best in Show at the associations 40th anniversary event. In other results, Gaby enjoyed her day out winning Special Veteran at almost 11 years old. Meg won an excellent 3rd place in a strong Limit class and Morgan was 4th in Open.
8th April 2012 – West Country Open Show
Meg won Best of Breed under Judith Carruthers and went on to get Group 3 under John Thirlwell. Owl won her class under John in AVNSC Gundog,.
9th March 2012 – Crufts Dog Show
We had another brilliant Crufts, with some fantastic results. Star of the day was Meg, who won her strong Post Graduate class. Apple won 2nd place, with Gale just behind with 3rd in Open Bitch and Morgan was 3rd in open Dog. In the Wirehaired Ring Xanto was 3rd in Open Dog.
Morgan once again strutted his stuff in the big ring on the Sunday, with Portugal borrowing him for the International Handling Finals. Morgan put on a brilliant show with Raquel Calaco, and they were awarded 1st Place! This is the second year Morgan has topped this prestigious competition, and its a testament to his fantastic temperament that he lets a complete stranger handle him so well.
22nd January 2012 – Manchester Championship Show
Huge thanks go to out judge today Ben Ashcroft, who made the show truly memorable. For the second time for these siblings, Morgan and Turtle did the double and won both the Dog CC and the Bitch CC, with Morgan just beating his sister to win Best of Breed. This is Morgan’s 9th CC and Turtles 5th. Younger sister Meg also won a strong Limit class, with Gale winning a respectable 3rd place in Open Bitch.In the wires Owl won Junior Bitch, and at the end of the day Kavacanne were awarded first place in the Gundog Breeders Group.
6th January 2012 – Boston Championship Show
Was a day for the wirehairs today with judge Nicky Hamlin awarding Best Dog and Best of Breed to Xanto, and we were delighted that Owl won Best Bitch! A great start to the year.
