Our Dogs

Benachitti Reeva Rose At
Kavacanne (Left). Now12 years old RIVA
was our first experience of the GSP. Originally bought as a pet and
companion we decided through our son Adam's enthusiasm to enter the
world of show dogs. Although getting consistent places at Open shows
Riva was never truly happy in the limelight and prefers to spend her
time lounging around at home or chasing around in the Shropshire
countryside.

BAILEY aka Dorntanza Lord Bailybarre At Kavacanne
JW (left). He was our first experience of a male GSP. He was bred by Barbara
and Trevor Rigby who were so supportive in the early days. Solid liver,
he was quite a contrast to our girls. He is now 10 years old. Bailey won
his Junior Warrant at just 11 months old and soon gained his stud book
number with a Reserve CC. With Hannah and Dime in partnership, Adam took
on Baileys training.. He achieved his Good Citizen Gold Award at YKC
Camp and in 2001 won the YKC Gundog Stakes Final at Crufts so reaching
the final 7 and showing himself off in the Main Ring. Bailey has
consistently won at Champ shows and Open shows. He has travelled to Courtrai in Belgium for showing and handling and was graded 'Excellent'
in his breed class. He has now retired from the show ring and is a loving and
wonderful boy.
As Adams success grew and a
friendship was forged with Fio Roberts and the famous Isara
Kurzhaar kennel so came ( Dutch Champion Isara Kurzhaar Chatline of Kavacanne.JW.)
GABY.
Now 7 years old she has been our most successful dog so far. She
consistently wins at Championship and Open Shows and rarely does not get
placed. Gaby has her stud book number and a one Reserve CC. She has been
shown in Ireland winning Green Stars and a 2 CACIBs. She travelled
to Courtrai in 2004 winning the Reserve bitch CACIB and CAC. In 2003 she
was the Top Gundog Puppy in the Vetzyme Pick of the Litter Competition.
Gaby is a regular member of the winning Isara Kurzhaar Breeder Stakes
team who have qualified for the Finals at Crufts every year since it
began making her
television debut in 2004. She has been awarded her Show
Certificate of Merit from the Kennel Club.
Gaby qualified for the YKC Gundog Stakes Finals at Crufts for 5
consecutive years
At the end of 2005 Gaby used her Pet Passport once more and travelled to Belgium and Holland for the Euro Dog and All Winners
Shows where she won the CAC and CACIB at both shows and best of Breed
in Amsterdam.. She competed at Rotterdam 2007 where she gained the
title of Dutch Champion and was placed runner up in Group 7. She also
won yet another CAC and CACIB at the All Winners Show 2007. From
her 1st litter in November 2006 she has produced the Top winning GSP
puppy, Show Champion Kavacanne Gift of the Gab.JW who you can find
details of on this page and also in October 2008 our newest family
member APPLE and MORGAN who lives with Adam.. Gaby is now a veteran and
enjoying her retirement. Following her 7 CACIB wins Gaby now has the
title of International Show Champion (CIE)
She has been
hip scored 5/7. She is also heart tested and eye tested.
Our own homebred Kavacanne
Nimue (right) POPPY
is now 7 years old.
She is certainly larger than life!!! Although rather exuberant at times
she is a loveable character and most biddable dog. She
is the daughter of Bailey and Dime. At her first ever show she won Best
Puppy in Show, so qualifying
for Crufts 2002. where she came 2nd to the BPIB .She passed her Good
Citizen Bronze Award soon after and has gone from strength to strength.
At Crufts 2004 she won the Good Citizen Class and 3rd in Post Graduate
from an entry of 23 dogs. Following this success she took a break for
maternal duties and produced 5 stunning puppies from Isara
Kurzhaar Exaliber JW
ShCm in August 2004. NIKE, a beautiful liver/white puppy has gone
to live with Pascale Van De Wee at the highly successful Vomadelsberg
kennel in Belgium where she will begin her show career at Antwerp
in March. Poppy is a stunning young lady and all who meet her are
impressed with her temperament and character. She is a joy to
watch as she chases her 'Boomer ball' (An indestructible ball which is
too big to pick up, much to Pops frustration.) Poppy's only downside is
her obsession to steal food 24/7 but despite this she is adored by all
of us. Pops has continued her success at Crufts from 2004 winning the
Good Citizen Bitch class for the 4th time in 4 years and qualifying her for Crufts
2009.Poppy has been
hip scored 3/5 and is heart and eye tested.
After the loss of Hannah's
Toy Poodle, Sweetie, thanks to Fio Roberts along came Isara Kurzhaar
Floosie aka PUDDING.
We thank Fio for this rather unusual name!
(apparently she was given Bread and Butter Pudding as a pup which she
found most enjoyable) Pudding is a most stunning liver and white bitch
with a solid liver saddle. She is shown by Hannah and is now 6 years
old. Pudding and Hannah have enjoyed much success both in the breed and
Junior Handling. She gained her stud book number at Belfast in 2004.
Like Gaby, Pudding has been a valuable member of the Isara Kurzhaar Breeder
Stakes team and will be competing at Crufts 2005. Pudding was qualified
for the YKC Gundog Stakes Final where she won First place, this being
the equivalent to winning the Group at Crufts for YKC members. again
handled by Hannah. She is a very sweet girl who despite her size insists
on sitting on a lap while watching television. Pudding has a hip score
of 3/5 and is heart and eye tested. She is pictured left with
Wirehaired Puppy Meg, sister to our GWP, Shim. She was again shown by
Hannah in the YKC Stakes Gundog Finals at Crufts 2006 and qualified for
the Crufts Finals 2008 where she was OVERALL WINNER.
SHIM, Kavacanne Star Shimmer
(right) is the daughter of our very own Star. She is now 6 years old
and also a devoted companion to Heather. They have produced a highly
successful winning team both in the breed and Junior Handling. In
2004 Shim won a Reserve CC and also was the Top Gundog in the
Vetzyme Pick of the Litter Competition and 3rd overall. She has won many
first places at Championship and Open Shows and was handled in the
YKC Gundog Stake Finals at Crufts 2005 as well as in her
breed class. She also partnered Heather in the Crufts
Handling Finals where they were awarded a highly creditable 3rd place.
At Paignton in July 2005, Shim won her second RCC under Brenda
Banbury. Shim is an amazing character and possesses many of her
mothers traits. She particularly likes stalking pigeons in our large
garden and has on occasion actually managed to catch them. When not
tearing around the great outdoors, Shim likes nothing better than to
curl up on Heathers bed!! At the end of 2005 Shim made
use of her Pet Passport and travelled with Heather to the Euro Dog Show
in Belgium and the All Winners Show in Amsterdam, winning the CAC and
CACIB at both shows. At Crufts 2006 she was placed 2nd in her breed
class and 3rd in the YKC Gundog Stakes Finals. She has also qualified for the 3rd year in
succession for the Gundog Stakes Finals at Crufts 2007.
Shim has a hip score of 5/5 and has been heart and eye tested. In
2007 she produced a stunning litter which gave us our special boy,
Xanto.

VIMTO
(Isara Kurzhaar
Viveca) is the latest member of our family. She is rather special as her
name suggests , 'Full of Life'. She was the only girl from a much
planned Artificial Insemination litter, her father being the Late Show
Champion Isara Kurzhaar Bootlegger and her Mum is Isara Kurzhaar Floosie
(Pudding). This litter was bred by myself and Kathryn Rittscher who is
the daughter of Fio Roberts. We hope the progeny from this litter will
continue to represent the Isara name for future generations.
Her brother Yanto is with Viv Burke(Alcazar)who we also
hope to see in the show ring. and her other brother 'Bill' is now for
New York with Kathryn in her Isara household.
