UkasWe are a small family kennel located in Telford, Shropshire. The affix belongs to Sue and Pete Rose, with Adam,, Hannah and Heather each having their own interest.  We have owned and loved GSPs and GWPs for over 25 years. And Mini Wirehaired Dachshunds for 4 years.

We share our home with 5 German Shorthaired Pointers , a GWP and 2 Mini Wirehaired Dachshunds called Tickle and Pumpkin.. Hannah has her daughter Bridget and now granddaughter Nancy.Adam has 2 GSPs and Heather has 1 GWP.  As you can tell we are passionate about  German Pointers. When our dogs not exerting their exuberance and energies in the open air, they can be found lazing around on the sofas and generally providing us with love, affection and entertainment with their mischievous antics. All our dogs live in the house as members of our family as do any puppies which we rear. We strongly feel that socialisation and human contact plays an important first part of a puppies life, therefore our pups are raised in an extremely busy household and are well prepared for their new homes when they leave us at 8 weeks old.(10 weeks for Dachshunds)

We are registered Kennel Club Assured Breeders, the first in our Breed. To date we have had 2 visits from the Kennel Club and received glowing feedback.   We abide by all the Kennel Club guidelines under the scheme which also give new puppy owners the opportunity to provide feedback.  The Kennel Club commented that 51% of our new owners returned their feedback forms, and all were with positive experiences.  The average return rate is only 20%, so a fantastic result.

In September 2014 we were awarded the Accolade of Excellence which is the highest award given and can only be granted when nominated by a Breed Club

Sue  and Adam are Committee members of the Central and Southern GSP Society. Sue is also Co Ordinator for Meet the Breed Day and a Trustee for the charity GSP Rescue UK

We are members of all three GSP Clubs and the M/W Dachs Club.

Puppies are sometimes available to suitable loving homes where owners are fully versed in the breed or prepared to listen to the advice we offer. We offer lifetime guidance and support to our new puppy owners. When our males are used at stud, it is only to owners whose bitches are health tested to our own criteria.

By navigating to the Our Dogs section of the Kavacanne site you can find photographs of our canine companions.

Our dogs are proudly exhibited in the show ring by the young handlers of the Rose family, Adam, Hannah and Heather who do a wonderful job. These partnerships have proved most successful and have achieved numerous wins both at Championship and Open show levels. The handlers have all been members of the Young Kennel Club and been amongst the top young handlers in the UK.

As  of February 2019 we have won 72 CCs and numerous RCCs in the Uk alone.
